This preparatory class teaches the skills required to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small to medium size enterprise branch network. Topics include connecting to a WAN; implementing network security; network types; network media; routing and switching fundamentals; the TCP/IP and OSI models; IP addressing; WAN technologies; operating and configuring IOS devices; extending switched networks with VLANs; determining IP routes; managing IP traffic with access lists; establishing point-to-point connections; and, among other possible topics, establishing Frame Relay connections.

The CCNA Preparatory Certification class trains students how to install and configure LANs and WANs from 5 to 500 users. Students receive practical, hands-on training at individual stations –- each equipped with TWO Cisco routers and a Cisco switch. Taught by an articulate and patient instructor, students will learn how to install, configure, and operate LANs, WANs, and dial access services for small, medium and large networks. This preparatory course is vocational in nature and is designed for those seeking advancement in their existing job or for those seeking to pursue an IT career.   While not required, graduates of this program may consider taking the associated Cisco CCNA certification exam.

Cisco Router Training

This intensive, hands-on class is for those with a thorough understanding of the concepts included in the MCSE class as well as the understanding of the concepts involved in PC Professor’s A+ Computer Repair preparatory class or its equivalent.
